Crosstown is a place for the whole family, where everybody is Jesus’ friend and where we get to meet all the zany and interesting townsfolk. Come and join the fun on Sunday mornings starting at 9.30 am during school terms as we build faith and Christian values in our families together while having an absolute blast.

The weekly fun at Crosstown includes lively worship with dancing and actions, crazy puppets, our resident dummy ‘Not So Bright’, adventure stories, the Crosstown Kid’s, games, morning tea and more fun than anyone should have on a Sunday morning.

This is what Crosstown looks like each week.
When you arrive you will be welcomed by a Crosstown Customs Officer and you will have your Crosstown passport checked and stamped. After you have been cleared through customs you will be allowed to enter Crosstown. Crosstown starts with lively worship of our great God with the whole family involved. Then we get to meet some of the Crosstown folk who help us interact with the big thought or issue for the day from the Bible.

At about 10.10 am the grown ups are ‘deported’ from Crosstown and sent ‘across town’ to the 10.15 am service, while the kids continue with Crosstown and enjoy some morning tea and a game. The kids then break up into small groups we call ‘Growth Groups’ and spend some time with their leader talking about what they have learned that morning. They also spend time praying for themselves and each other. They then join back together to draw Crosstown to a close for the day and then join the 10.15 am service for Communion.

Or you could just join us from 9.30 to 10.10 am each Sunday and be on your way by 10.15 am. If you would like the kids to continue on with Crosstown, but after 10.10 am you prefer not to join the service at St. James’, you could leave the kids and have an hour to yourself and have a coffee or do some shopping. You can pick them up around 11.20 am. Either way we will have a lot of fun and you will have a great shared experience to talk about during the week.

Crosstown is on at 9.30 am in the Beaconhills College Year 12 centre. There will be seating for the less able adults but we encourage all the kids to bring a cushion or pillow for themselves.
